No, deviation detection cannot work in step/direction slave mode. Deviation detection works by comparing the position register in the TMC429 with the encoder, but in slave mode the TMC429 does not do anything (and so its position counter is also not working).

When I put the StepRocker into slave mode and control it by a master StepRocker, am I still able to use an encoder with the slave StepRocker? Can a deviation error be detected on the slave StepRocker?
