David,

what you need to do is to send a correct TMCL datagram via RS485 to the stepRocker. This shoud be feasible with all microcontrollers, also with an ATMEGA.

You cannot just send the variable. You have to send a complete TMCL MVP command that also includes your desired number of steps.

Hello,

I've now finally managed to occupy myself with the steprocker.
I've done a firmware upgrade via USB.
I have some programs written with the TMCL-IDE and tested.
It is all very well and I'm satisfied. The steprocker runs not alone.
I always need a PC.
My idea is to operate the steprocker with data from an ATMEGA CPU via RS485.
But I know not how it goes.
I want with my Atmega board the steprocker just say how many steps the engine will run and in which direction.

MVP ABS, 0, (var)
WAIT POS, 0, 0
STOP

I want to send with the ATMEGA variable (var).
The steprocker is then simply execute the steps.
It would be ideal if you can send messages back to the rockers on the ATMEGA.

Can someone help me with the plan?

sorry for my english =)

David
